Product Description

HDPE geomembrane is the industry-standard impermeable liner: high-density polyethylene sheet containing about 2% carbon black for long-term UV protection. It offers the strongest chemical resistance and the lowest permeability among common geomembranes, which is why landfill, mining and water containment specifications around the world are built around it.

We supply smooth HDPE geomembrane in wide rolls to reduce the number of weld joints on site, and support your installation team with welding guidance.

HDPE or LLDPE? Choose HDPE when the containment has to survive aggressive chemistry - landfill leachate, heap leach solution, industrial effluent - because its higher crystallinity gives the best chemical resistance and the lowest permeability of the polyolefin liners. Choose LLDPE instead when the subgrade is expected to move: LLDPE is far more flexible and elongates well past 700%, so it bridges differential settlement and tolerates point loads better on uneven ground. If the slope is steeper than about 1:3, neither smooth sheet is the right answer - use our textured geomembrane, whose embossed surface raises interface friction and lets you build steeper slopes without the cover soil sliding.

Which thickness? Aquaculture ponds, canals and decorative lakes usually run 0.5 mm to 0.75 mm where the subgrade is prepared smooth and loads are light. Landfill base liners and caps are normally specified at 1.5 mm, and mining heap leach pads commonly 1.5 mm to 2.0 mm, where the sheet carries ore load and sharp rock contact. Tell us the medium being contained, the subgrade condition and the design life and we will recommend a thickness - thicker is not automatically better, because heavy sheet is harder to weld and harder to detail around penetrations.

Welding and seam integrity. HDPE is joined by hot wedge or extrusion welding, and we build to the detail CQA inspectors expect: dual-track hot wedge seams leave an air channel between the tracks, so every metre of seam can be air-pressure tested before backfilling. Each shipment ships with weld test strips and a recommended temperature and speed window for the thickness you bought, plus a simple destructive test schedule - shear and peel on samples cut from the production seam - that satisfies most third-party inspectors.

Standards and documentation. Our HDPE geomembrane is produced to GRI-GM13 / ASTM GM13 requirements, with traceability by roll number and mill certificates covering thickness, density, tensile properties, carbon black dispersion and oxidative induction time. Third-party inspection (SGS, BV, Intertek) can be arranged before shipment, and every roll is labelled so your CQA documentation matches the material that actually arrives.

Send us your containment design, required sheet thickness and project location - our team will confirm supply, welding parameters and lead time within 24 hours.
