Product Description
Our 3D erosion control mat (geomat) is a three-dimensional, UV-stabilised polymer structure with a flat lower face and an open crimped upper surface. Soil and seed fill the depth of the mat, and its filaments anchor the root zone so vegetation establishes faster and resists being washed out before the roots mature.
On channels and slopes the mat acts as a permanent reinforcement of the vegetation layer rather than a temporary cover. Once vegetation is established the roots interlock with the mat structure, and the composite system withstands higher flow velocities than unprotected soil or a bare seeded surface.
The mat is supplied in rolls that are unrolled down the slope and anchored in a trench at the crest.
